Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Hojean, Issey Cross, and Yung Kayo. Turn on, tune in, and zone out.

Internet Money - JETSKI (feat. Lil Tecca and Lil Mosey)

Following their breakthrough of a debut album, B4 The Storm, and numerous hits including the chart-topping “Lemonade,” the producer collective returns with their newest, head-bopping anthem, “JETSKI.” Over a nifty, captivating beat, Lil Tecca and Lil Mosey spit catchy bars and hooks, recounting their extravagant lifestyles that are hard to relate to but especially enjoyable to listen to at ungodly volumes.

Phil Fresh, Kymie & Kwame - IG Luv

Chronicling a perfect, too-accurate, modern-day love story, Phil Fresh, Kymie, and Kwame come together on “IG Luv” to bravely declare what some of us are scared to admit; the one true purpose of Instagram: finding the love of your life. There might not be a more tangible line in 2021 than “Am I in love with you or just your Instagram?” As the trio floats effortlessly over a fun-loving beat, it’s hard not to chant along with this highly relatable, dance-inducing, thought-provoking tune.

Steven Bamidele - What Happens Afterwards

Written and produced from his bedroom with friends Dave Bryce and Ish Hussein, “What Happens Afterwards,” is a big sonic left turn for Bamidele. The song is a sigh-swooning, wondrous mix of buttery vocals and serene instrumentals, gliding beautifully over the keys played by Bryce. “WHA,” as Bamidele describes is “a stark reminder, mainly to himself, that the only thing that matters is the ‘now’ and to focus too much on anything else can be detrimental.”

Issey Cross - FunFair

In her newly released debut EP, MIRRORS DON’T LIE, UK’s Issey Cross sings and redefines alt-pop in her sparkling own style. Tracks like “FunFair,” unveil her talent to capture moments of her life in authentic, memorable ways as she establishes herself as the genre’s next big thing.

Hojean - Far From Here

Keeping his promise to make music everyone can relate to, the Atlanta singer/songwriter drops “Far From Here,” a melodious confession of an apologetic lover with inner turmoil. Hojean continues to deliver records that throw you down memory lane, with his impeccable storytelling and dream-filled vocals allowing you to reminisce of what could’ve been, should’ve been.

Yung Kayo - tell me

At just 17 years old, Yung Kayo has managed to get recognition and praise from true trap connoisseurs, including Young Thug, who signed the young DC rapper to YSL Records last year. Known to rap tremendously over the most hard-hitting production, Yung Kayo follows through with yet another banger in “tell me,” proving once again to be the youngest successor amidst the new generation of rap.

Projexx - Sidepiece

On the journey to his imminent rise, the Kingston, JA native has been committed to creating a sound that melts all of his inspirations in one. Following his collaboration on Wizkid’s critically acclaimed, Made In Lagos, Projexx delivers a smooth yet hauntingly addictive tune with his latest single, “Sidepiece.” It’s a perfect transition to the oncoming warm weather, the song as light and tingly as the summer sun-rays.

SamTRax - One Nite Story

Acclaimed producer and songwriter releases his much-anticipated debut, The Valley, filled with goosebump-making, indescribably chill and otherworldly sounds, like the fan-favorite collaboration with Amber Olivier, “You Are.” And songs like “One Nite Story,” are escaping; soothingly drifting you away so you are no longer belonging to anything but the rest of this project.

Br3nya - Homecoming Freestyle

As the UK’s hottest new face, West London’s Br3nya makes sure to live up to her name in her hooking new drop, “Homecoming Freestyle.” The Ghanian artist combines all of her influences and channels her various styles into her music, attracting well-deserved attention to her versatile flow and catchy bars. With an array of undeniable hits under her arm, Br3nya’s already on her way to permanently mark her territory in the crowded UK music scene.
