MUST LISTEN 122

Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Take Van, Test, and Ice Spice.

Michigan-bred band Indigo Starrcarr comprised of Scott Posada, Bryce Gray, Brian Cole, and Johnny Posada, released their debut single “How Do I Love You?” Written from the perspective of day-to-day relationship troubles with still being hopeful about being in love with a certain person but still asking yourself, how do i love you?

L.A based artist Take Van returns with her bouncy new single “Buzzkill.” The track sees Take Van’s ethereal vocals wrap around an extremely fun and bouncy house beat that leads to a satisfying breakdown, making you want to dance around with your friends for hours.

NYC-based rapper CLIP shares "HURT U" ahead of her debut EP, Perception, out September 8th. This vulnerable autotune-driven track gives an intimate glimpse into CLIP’s raw emotional side in her writing, accompanied by a visual that takes us on the inside of a glittering human body.

Pop singer-songwriter Rowan Drake releases his heart-wrenching new song, “Abandonment Issues.” The song marks a creative turning point for Drake, matching the 19-year-old artist’s graceful guitar strumming and an airy-yet-potent vocal performance with sudden bursts of hard-hitting beats to create a spellbinding piece of storytelling.

R&B singer-songwriter Savannah Ré is showing a new side of her artistry with “Closure.” The brand-new single sees Savannah asserting her worth and calling out toxic fuck boy energy. “Closure” blends Baile Funk percussion with dancehall and soca influences for an up-tempo track, unlike anything Savannah has released before.

Baltimore rapper, Test, delivers sturdy verses on his newest release, “Non Stop”, featuring UK drill star, Digga D. While the drill rapper slides on the track with melodies, Test spits a catchy hook and solid bars to prove the only way he is going from here is up.

Bronx native, Ice Spice, might’ve singlehandedly given the NYC area their song of the summer with “Munch.” Oozing with confidence over the booming 808’s and skittering hi-hats, Ice Spice’s flow is unlike no other, each bar feels like jab after jab with her soft-spoken flow backed by her ferocious delivery.

Headie One returns with “Illegal”; his signature drill sound sharpened and more skilled on the latest tune. After establishing himself as one of the UK’s finest rappers, the Tottenham native continues to reinvent the soundscape of drill through his honest story-telling and one-of-a-kind flow.
