MUST LISTEN 107

Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Ferdous, Kevin George, and Hadiya George.

The Afghan-Dutch artist continues to shine with smooth R&B grooves on “Same Room.” Ferdous intoxicates listeners with his luxurious electronic production and is a prominent force that needs to be on your radar.

The Auckland-based trio are carving out their own space in indie with the release of “Transpire.” As the second single off of their debut EP expected to release this June, “Transpire” speaks to the fleeting rush of taking a risk while not knowing the outcome; taking a leap of faith and believing in the power of surrendering to the unknown.

Kevin George returns with “LOST MY MIND”. An ode to chasing after an unreciprocated love interest, the artist describes the track as “catchy, it’s psychedelic, it’s hard, it’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever done.” It’s no wonder this rising star is quickly building an audience with his genre-defying cuts.

The Mexican singer proudly sings about her heritage on her latest single, “Brown.” Taken from her debut project, The Lives They Left, the track is a love letter to her people. It validates the pain and indignities Latin Americans have experienced, but at the same time is hopeful and unifying.

Charbel's solo work is a ride filled with passion and love for all things music. No genre solely defines Charbel's efforts and that can be heard in his evocative song writing & style. Charbel’s solo work encapsulates his vision of spreading positivity through music in a world still navigating through hate.

Hadiya George returns with “Balance”, the anticipated follow-up to her debut release, “Hot Flavor.” The single continues to demonstrate Hadiya’s effortlessly cool, ultra-modern and innately soulful sound. As her sultry vocal takes center stage, dreamy chords and a grooving R&B bassline make this an essential record from one of the scene’s most exciting new acts.

minor. releases their latest collaboration with sunshine blvd on “SOUL.” Influenced by The 1975, Joji, and classic 80s Asian artists such as Anzen Chitai, minor. aims to resonate with listeners by creating sentimental soundscapes and nostalgic lyrics.

The London-based producer and songwriter offers a unique take on James Blake’s original track, “Friends That Break Your Heart” on her latest release, “Foot Forward.” Combining elements of folk, indie, and R&B with her warm and ethereal vocals, Sans Soucis creates a brilliant rendition.
