MUST LISTEN 106

Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Nezsa, Lo Artiz, and Ella Rosa.

Alternative R&B singer and songwriter Nezsa returns with her latest single, “Trouble.” The track is a brilliant genre-bending R&B offering, driven by Nezsa’s enchanting voice, layered harmonies, and vivid storytelling lyrics. The ethereal track sees Nezsa standing up to a toxic ex-lover, and pushing back against their cheating, gaslighting, and lying ways, over lush synth keys, infectious 808 drum patterns, and a glorious saxophone arrangement that perfectly punctuates the track.

Miami native Lo Artiz releases her soulful new single “11:11.” The track is an affirmation for anyone battling with themselves. It serves as a reminder to remember the bigger picture and what we hope to accomplish in this life.

Continuing his meteoric breakthrough, 17-year-old rapper, entrepreneur, visionary, and the DMV’s hottest rising star KA$HDAMI reveals a new single entitled, “Phoenix.” On the track, an otherworldly beat rattles underneath his entrancing, engaging, and ethereal flow. His hypnotic delivery instantly captivates before his voice takes flight on an airy refrain.

Reggie Becton & Ella Rosa collaborate on her latest single, “Oasis.” The two come together in a celebration of self-love combining each other’s velvety vocals into his cohesive style that compliments each other. The track is also built on velvety synths accompanied by some luxurious strings that feel reminiscent of classic 90s R&B.

London-based singer/songwriter Morgan Munroe returns with her first solo release of the year, “Mutual.” The track captures the essence of a relationship that has run its course yet the ex-lovers are holding on so no one else can have them. Fusing the best bits of classic and contemporary R&B, Morgan's faultless voice commands attention and uncovers all that can be lost and gained through love and heartbreak.

"Shawty Goodnight" is Jay-Way's first release of 2022. The Ghanaian-Dutch artist continues to transcend his hip-hop roots with emo-rap bops enhanced by pop-punk melodies with a hardcore attitude. Blending influences from 90s hip-hop, punk, and urban pop music of the 2000s create his signature soundscape.

London-based TS Graye returns with her cathartic new track, “Bunny Years (Ten in The Morning).” It’s simultaneously a hopeless cry and a celebration of women’s resilience. The first taster from her forthcoming Graye Area EP, due later this summer.

Emanuela is an artist and performer with a passion for appealing yet intelligently crafted music. “Made In Heaven” is a perfect example of what it's like to produce great electronic pop music with a contemporary twist and an experimental edge that never deters from the pure appeal of a good pop hook.
