Daphne Guinness - “Heaven”
As a result of a collaboration that is based on creativity, love, and spirituality, Daphne Guinness debuts a visual that is dedicated to the opulence of romance. With a stunning music video directed by legendary photographer, David LaChapelle, “Heaven” is a disco lover’s dream. The elegance and extravagance featured is a feast for the eyes and makes us wish the video was longer than the four-minute run time.
YUKIKA - “Love in TV World”
It seems like the 80s never left for YUKIKA. “Love in TV World” brings Japanese City Pop to a brand new generation along with the rest of her brilliant discography. By reviving the extraordinary genre from decades past and bringing it to the Korean language, it’s apparent that cultural differences and time isn’t a hindrance when it comes to music.
dreamcastmoe - “(301)341-7207”
The singer and producer formerly known as Dreamcast, has been establishing himself as one of D.C.’s most promising stars with the release of his EP, Lamont. As the first single off the project, dreamcastmoe perfectly mashes together elements of soul, R&B, and electronica to create imagery of moving through fluid space. The artist describes the song as moving on from a difficult situation while dealing with the familial ties attached.
Sinéad Harnett - “Take Me Away (feat. EARTHGANG)”
After dropping "Stickin'" with Masego & VanJess, R&B powerhouse vocalist Sinéad Harnett is back with another winning collaboration with the critically acclaimed duo, EARTHGANG. Sinead provides a soothing escape from the crazy 24-hour news cycle, wanting to be present in the moment. Both singles are lifted from her upcoming sophomore album set to be out early 2021.
Jeshi - “Mask On”
As a follow up to his EP, BAD TASTE, East London’s latest export drops his visual for “Mask On.” Coasting through his verses, Jeshi navigates masculinity and vulnerability while following the signature DIY aesthetic of UK Grime. As the artist is confronted with others in masks, in the end, he has to face his own facade head on.
Rae Khalil - “TOGETHER ft. Shayhan”
A surefire way to get you moving while you’re stuck inside is Rae Khalil’s “TOGETHER.” The lush bass and Rae’s smooth cadence is cut through with Shayhan’s chorus and the result is a groovy, tropical-like number. The simple visuals for the video are reminiscent of a home-made video with close friends that delivers a cool, effortless vibe.
Issy Wood - “Soup ft. Chloe Wise”
The acclaimed visual artist wants to make their mark on the world of music, and with the release of “Soup,” have been doing so seamlessly. Although it’s partnered with black and white clips from 1955 Campbell Kids soup commercials, don’t let that fool you; the artist pulls together haunting vocals and cascades them through guitar-picking, creating a moody reflection on the thankless nature of feminized domestic labor.
Briskey - “Mystery”
The Australian singer-songwriter bursts into the scene with the release of his debut EP, Nothing to Lose. Influenced by the likes of Calvin Harris, Troye Sivan, and M83, Briskey proves that he has the potential to be a powerhouse himself. The collection of dance-pop songs featured, including “Mystery,” will surely win over a legion of fans in due time.
Amo Amo - “Canta”
Amo Amo releases an ode to Mother Earth as the title track off their EP, Canta. The accompanying video that was dedicated to this year’s Earth Day is especially poignant given the reality we all currently face. The inspiring group asks us to examine what it means to love, and how we can do our part to better take care of the gifts nature has given us for future generations to come.
