Ramriddlz - “¡Fever!” and “Skittlz”
The OG Sweeterman returns with, “¡Fever!” and “Skittlz,” two sweeter treats for the end of the summer filled with his signature dreamy and tropical vibes. The Mississauga native is once again using his renowned formula of spitting not-so-subtle sexual innuendos, interpolating a nostalgic anthem from your childhood, and crooning harmoniously over a mesmerizing beat by producer pal, Jaegan. With the recent announcement of his new project in the upcoming month, we’re excited to hear how the fusion expert reinvents his sound and gives us new bangers to overplay.
DLNQNT - “Jenny Craig”
The rising Philly rapper releases his newest, highly addictive track, “Jenny Craig,” alongside fellow up & comer and collaborator BBY GOYARD. The two deliver catchy bars and harmonies, with exquisite word play around the title of the song, making it impossibly hard to not chant along by the end of it all.
Young Jasper - “Talk, Talk”
Windy City’s very own, Young Jasper drops his new song, “Talk, Talk,” with an authentic and gritty visual to assist. The 19-year-old rapper boasts over the hypnotic slap of the beat, speaking to the non-believers to let them know he is ahead of his time, as he continues to be amongst the most promising acts to come out of the city of Chicago.
Ashbeck - “Uhuh!”
Straight from the UK underground rap scene, Ashbeck has been spewing exceptional sounds as he constantly reminds the public he is the one to look out for. In his latest release, “Uhuh!,” he delivers flawless verses along with rapper Mally’s accompaniment for the perfect feature. The two effortlessly rap over the soft guitars on the drill beat, making the song uniquely pleasant and hard at the same time.
Nightshifts - “Kicks”
Toronto-based singer/songwriter releases the lead single, “Kicks,” from his upcoming debut album set to be released next year. With the Tame Impala influence strong, “Kicks” takes you on a cosmic journey, taking you down a soulful road built around vintage synths and groovy guitars with the smoothest vocals to accompany. The song makes you want to stand in the back of a truck with your arms wide open as the summer breeze blows your hair and your problems away.
Coach Tev - “Mini Cap”
Irving, Texas born and raised artist, Coach Tev, is setting an example on how to creatively take control of your craft and hone it. With the latest release of his project, Double Double, the rapper doesn’t fail to deliver hot verses, inventing unique flows and cadences to make songs like “Mini Cap,” a must listen. In the recently released video for the song, Coach Tev quite literally takes charge of different situations, and lives up to his instinct of wearing many hats.
Ojerime - “Give It Up 2 Me”
Who knew the modern-day 90s R&B princess we need is blaring her magical sounds out of South London? Ojerime released her latest mixtape, B4 I Breakdown, earlier this year where she bares her darkest times and turns them into a vocal phenomenon. Her song, “Give It Up 2 Me,” which is an enchanted journey in itself, ends with the songstress using her voice as an instrument—a skill highly reminiscent of Aaliyah—and a silent promise to keep the soul in R&B alive.
Khamari - “The Heat”
With almost a million streams on Spotify, the young singer/producer has managed to make his newest drop “The Heat,” a must listen bedroom R&B anthem. Khamari’s sultry but strong vocals over the soft yet groovy beat pull you in right away, making you want the song to play in a loop and go on endlessly.
Exmiranda - “Fresh Fro”
The top of the charts have seen more female rappers this year than ever, but if you’re still sleeping on unconventional and unapologetic artists like Exmiranda, it’s time to wake it up. In her recent release, “Fresh Fro,” the Toronto rapper spits nothing but heat, her rhymes exuding confidence and empowerment, as the hypnotic beat only adds to the excellence of the song.
