Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Sotomayor, DRIMS & Girl Ultra.  Turn up, tune in, and tune out.


DRIMS - “Si No Encuentro Las Palabras”

Signed to Universal Music Mexico, the Alternative/Indie group DRIMS is composed of 5 talented members in their early 20s. Si No Encuentro Las Palabras is a song about not having the sufficient words to explain how much you miss that special someone, making it the perfect quarantine song of 2020.


Señor Kino - “Me Quedo Aqui”

Señor Kino is the 5 member Indie band hailing from Sonora, Mexico. Their latest single, Me Quedo Aqui, translates to “I’ll stay here” - is nothing short of a dreamy summer track.


Ramona - “Los Esclavos”

The 5 member band, Romona, hails from Tijuana, Mexico and succeeds in creating music combining influences from Afro-soul and Latin American psych-rock from the 70’s.Their latest single, Los Esclavos, is inspired - musically speaking - by Juan Gabriel, one of the most prolific mexican composers and singers of all time. This fun tune is accompanied by an endearing lyric music video.


Vanessa Zamora - “AYER” 

Experience Vanessa Zamora’s velvety voice in her latest single, AYER, accompanied by black and white visuals in its music video. The Mexican singer and songwriter hails from Tijuana, creating melodies that envelop you in an emotional awakening.


Ice Cream Boy - “Changing”

Rising pop-star, Mauricio Castillo Guerra, known as Ice Cream Boy. In his latest project, Changes, Ice Cream Boy’s track Changing showcases his melodic voice.


Sotomayor - “Menéate pa’ mi”

Sotomayor is composed of siblings Paulina and Raul, natives of Mexico City. Together, they create a blend between afro-latin rhythms and electronic beats. In their third studio album, Orígenes, the sibling duo delivered 10 tracks that inevitably will have you moving. One of our favorites, Meante pa’ mi, is accompanied by a video full of vibrant pastel colors.


Girl Ultra - “DameLove” 

R&B artist Mariana de Miguel, better known as Girl Ultra, hails from Mexico City. Signed to Mexican label Finesse Records, Girl Ultra is known for creating bi-lingual songs, such as her  single, DameLove, from her latest album Nuevos Aires.  Showing her support for the anti-racist movement, Girl Ultra is donating alll proceeds from DameLove’s accompanying music video to the American Civil Liberties Union.


Lara Project - “Mercurio Retrógrado”

Venezuelan brothers, Manuel and Felix, come together as Lara Project. Their inspiration to create music comes from contemporary art, the fashion industry and sounds of the 1980s. The duo’s latest EP, Mercurio Retrogrado, La Luna y Yo includes soothing indie tracks that are perfect for a long road trip.


Cosmo’s Demos - “MY Room V2”

Discovering rising artist, Cosmos Demos, was the perfect addition of R&B/Soul tunes to our playlists. MY Room V2 is puts you in this zen element, fitting for a weekend evening summer vibe.
