MUST LISTEN 128

Every week, we’ll be bringing you Must Listen: a series that's a compilation of rising artists along with songs that must be added to your everyday playlist. This week’s playlist consists of emerging acts like Tei Shi, Joyce Wrice, and Amaria.

L.A based singer-songwriter Tei Shi returns with her emotional new single, “Bad Premonition.” This track’s minimalist production gives the pop star's vocals the space to really shine. Bobbing and weaving through a breathy chorus, the track sums up being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Bubbling R&B singer-songwriter Joyce Wrice makes her highly anticipated return today with the release of the experimental and uptempo EP, Motive. Standout track “Spent” radiates with a new sense of confidence and carefreeness; experimenting with an afrobeat production, her vocals strut atop the beat as she professes that her love can’t be bought.

L.A based singer-songwriter  Amaria returns with a sultry R&B tune, “All for You,” featuring Destin Conrad. The songstress seamlessly glides over this bossa-nova-infused production with her soft and enchanting vocals leaving you under a spell. This is the first track the R&B prodigy has released since her debut album Bittersweet last year, and we’re more than ecstatic to see what else she has in store for us.

R&B singer-songwriter, RINI, returns with his bold new single “Selfish” featuring BEAM along with the announcement of his forthcoming project, UltraViolet. This track marks a transition in RINI’s artistry taking on a new persona that differs from his typical lover-boy aesthetic. The song radiates a grittier aura compared to his signature dreamy synths we’ve been accustomed to, while tapping into the more negative sides of a relationship.

New York drill star Kay Flock recruits rap legend Gucci Mane for the epic new single, “Geeked Up.” The hard-hitting track finds Flock at his best; with the smooth beat providing the perfect backdrop for the young MC to flex his variety of flows. It is accompanied by a cinematic video and news that The D.O.A. Tape Deluxe is coming this fall.

Lancey Foux drops his latest single, “All Night Long.” The East London rapper croons over a melody-driven, drum-snaring production as he describes his endless night affairs. The song is followed by the release of “LANCEY OR LANCEY” earlier last month, the two tracks signaling a build-up to a new project from the creative genius.

Producer, songwriter, and overall powerhouse artist Flwr Chyld released his highly anticipated debut album, Luv N Chaos. The album tells stories from multiple perspectives on what it means to fall in and out of love. As a re-introduction to his signature sound, this album reflects a level of artistry beyond his previous work. Combining elements of R&B, Funk, and House, the album shows how Flwr Chyld has refined his sound.

As the most exciting 6-member collective from the UK, NSG is steadily living up to their acronym: Never Stop Growing. With already a set of hits under their name, the group continues to release bangers like “Nyash,” their signature afro bashment sound even more lively and jarring. The song features Grime legend Giggs, who meshes effortlessly well with the rest of the enigmatic six.
